A personal anecdote.
Posted on: August 3rd

Welcome back, dearest reader!

I fear that I couldn't resist rambling about a personal anecdote which I had on my mind, as the title suggests! I was digging through my old Msgr.net account and found some chatlogs I had completely forgotten about!! Do you ever feel, when looking back at writings from your past, that it was as if you had replaced them? That is to say, it feels like a completely different person had written it? :-P

Msgr.net itself came out on my 10th birthday, that being December 14th 1992. That also, coincidentally, is when I first had access to a personal computer. Now, back in '92, this was pretty rare. Computers were only for businesses, the wealthy, or those interested in technology. It just so happens that I happened to be immensely interested in technology, and my dad had managed to score one from his new big job. (Which, when they fired him, they seemingly forgot about! Their loss. >:-P)

But I digress! This is a sort of origin story, to put it in words more interesting than the subject matter actually is. But, yes, this is how I fell in love with computers! I just hadn't managed to learn HTML until Hope came around!

Keep watching the skies.
- Ian :-)
